Pavel Vrabec

Pavel Vrabec was born in Postojna, Slovenia in 1964. A graduate of Organisational Sciences at the University of Maribor, Pavel launched his career in media as a successful manager involved with a highly popular Slovenian radio station.
Mr. Vrabec is recognized as a pioneer of the Slovenian media scene, and among its leading authorities. Pavel joined Pro Plus in 1996 as Director of Sales, where he was credited with implementing a new sales model, which the company successfully introduced, and later transformed into a standard across the Slovenian media market.
In April 2005, he was appointed Deputy General Director of Pro Plus, and he performed his function thoroughly and professionally, with insight in both domestic and international markets. Mr. Vrabec was later appointed General Director of Pro Plus in December 2009.
Under his management, POP TV has maintained its leading position with the most popular TV programming in Slovenia, while Kanal A has significantly strengthened its position. Under Pavel's direction, the company sucesefully launched its first Slovenian subscription package POP NON STOP in September 2011. This includes 6 different thematic TV channels with exclusive content for the whole family: POP KINO 1, POP KINO 2, POP FANI, POP OTO, POP BRIO, POP SPOT. At the same time the company made significant progress in online media, being the operator of the most visited website in Slovenia, 24ur.com, and several specialized web portals.
In addition to his professionalism and dedication, he enjoys popularity among co-workers and business partners. He was also elected for a highly respected position - the chairman of SOZ (Slovenian Advertising Faculty) for 2010/2011 period. Pavel lives in Ljubljana, and his interests include sports activities and music. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
