Ognian Dimov was born in 1963 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He graduated from the University of Economics in Budapest, Hungary, with a Masters Degree in International Business Affairs and Marketing in 1989 and in the same year began his career with Bulgarian National Television. In 1992 he was promoted to the role of Director of Sales and Marketing, a newly formed department at the time, and in 1994 he received the Saatchi and Saatchi Excellence Star for managing the most dynamically growing media department in Eastern Europe. During this period he also co-founded the Bulgarian Advertising Association.
Between 1998 and 2007, Ognian and his family lived in the United States of America where in 2001 he joined the TV station WPPB TV in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as Station manager. Under his management, WPPB TV’s Program Development and Production team won an EMI award in 2006 and in the same year, Ognian received his MBA from Robert Kennedy College in Switzerland.
In 2007, Ognian returned to Bulgaria with a vision to set up and launch a new television channel in his home country. The outcome was TV2, which was launched in November 2007 and it is now the most dynamically growing television station in Bulgaria.
Ognian speaks four languages as well as his native Bulgarian.
