MTV Romania
MTV Romania was originally launched in June 2002 by MTV Networks Europe.
Pro Tv S.A began operating MTV Romania in December 2007 after entering a licensing agreement with MTV Networks International.
MTV Romania is distributed to almost 4 million households and broadcasts 24 hours per day, both in Romanian language and in English (subtitled shows). It is the No 1 music channel in Romania and in the first half of 2008 achieved an audience share of 1% in its target audience aged between 15 and 34.
MTV Romania offers both local and international programming including the latest mega-shows, events celebrated at world-wide level and an entire series of shows designed to perfectly integrate with the lifestyle of the channel's target audience.
Shows like Homewrecker, News, WebmeUP, Speed, Dance Life, Punk'd and One Bad Trip and internationally recognizable shows, such as MTV Pimp My Ride, cater for a bouquet of tastes and offer a range of choice for the viewer.
Big events such as MTV Europe Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards are transmitted live, bringing the Romanian public unique performances from the world's greatest stars, images from the VIP areas and exclusive interviews. Like their colleagues from the US and London, MTV Romania is the proud organiser of its country's biggest music event, the MTV Romanian Music Awards, which took place for the fifth time in 2007. Following in the successful footsteps of the Romanian Music Awards, in 2007, the first edition of the DJ Awards brought MTV Romania to new heights.
Using local and international programming, MTV Romania has reached and maintains its goal of being the most loved music channel in Romania.
