Kanal A

Kanal A was launched in May 1991 and is the first commercial television station in Slovenia. It entered a phase of accelerated development in October 2000, when Kanal A joined the company PRO PLUS. Ever since the merger, the channel has become more and more successful.

The television programming provides nationwide coverage and reaches about 94% of Slovenian households.

With its diversified and interesting content, Kanal A is chosen by a large number of viewers. Its position is even stronger in 2010. Kanal A has already attracted, in the primary target group (18-49 years of age), an average all-day audience share of 13.4%, and 14.7% in prime-time during the first quarter of 2010.

Kanal A offers its viewers locally produced news and entertainment shows. The news show SVET na Kanalu A (The World on Kanal A), which is broadcasted on weekdays at 6 p.m., is the most viewed show in its time slot and also the second most viewed news program in the country. Viewers can also follow interesting entertainment shows Pazi, kamera! (Candid Camera), Avto.info, TV Tuba and Zvezda pokra (Poker Star). Other exclusive content includes popular sport events, such as the UEFA Champions League. All matches are also available on websites 24ur.com/ligaprvakov and maxtv.si.

On Kanal A viewers can also find a variety of the latest international programs including top featured films, global hit series and reality shows.

All domestic shows are available on PRO PLUS's first nonlinear television in Slovenia poptv.si and Slovenia's first online catch up television service maxtv.si. Both are positioned on PRO PLUS web page 24ur.com, the most visited web page in Slovenia.

The General Manager of PRO PLUS is Pavel Vrabec.
