Robert E. Burke to Step Down as Chief Operating Officer of Central European Media Enterprises

August 3, 2006, Hamilton, Bermuda

Regional Directors and CFO to Assume COO Responsibilities

Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (“CME”) (Nasdaq/Prague Stock Exchange: CETV) announced today that Robert E. Burke will step down as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer effective October 1, 2006. Mr. Burke’s duties will be assumed by regional directors, Adrian Sarbu, Marijan Jurenec, Executive Vice-President Marina Williams and Chief Financial Officer, Wallace Macmillan. They will report directly to Michael Garin, CME’s Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Burke will continue to work for the Company on a consulting basis.

“Roby has been a valuable member of our management team and a significant contributor to CME’s development and growth since 2001,” said Michael Garin, CME’s Chief Executive Officer.  “He has worked tirelessly with our local operating managers and partners to improve the performance of our stations and to build an efficient operating structure that is ideally suited to drive our future growth.”

Roby Burke commented: “My time at CME has been extremely rewarding and has allowed me to work with some of the best television management teams in the world.  My resignation was a personal decision that will allow me to enjoy an extended vacation, pursue some hobbies and be a devoted CME shareholder. The restructuring we completed earlier this year by creating three operating groups managed by our most talented executives enhances CME’s ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities in its high-growth markets. I take huge satisfaction knowing that I am leaving the company in great hands.”

CME is a TV broadcasting company with leading networks in six Central and Eastern European countries reaching an aggregate of approximately 82 million people. The Company’s television stations are located in Croatia (Nova TV), Czech Republic (TV Nova, Galaxie Sport), Romania (PRO TV, Acasa, PRO Cinema), Slovakia (Markíza), Slovenia (POP TV, Kanal A) and Ukraine (Studio 1+1, Studio 1+1 International, Kino, City).
