Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. Announces the Appointment of Václav Mika as General Director of TV Markíza in the Slovak Republic

Central European Media Enterprises Ltd.  ("CME") (NASDAQ/Prague Stock Exchange: CETV) today announced the appointment of Václav Mika as General Director of TV Markíza in the Slovak Republic replacing Vladimír Repčík. The appointment is effective immediately.

CME also announced today that it has promoted Radka Doehring to Deputy General Director of TV Markíza. Ms. Doehring retains the responsibilities of her previous position as Finance Director of TV Markíza in her new role.

Prior to joining CME, Václav Mika, 42, worked as General Director of Rádio Expres, the most popular radio station in the Slovak Republic. In 2004 he was appointed President of the Association of Independent Radio and TV stations representing the interests of all broadcasters. Between 1998 and 1999, he worked as Vice-Chairman of the Slovak TV (STV) Council and between 1994 and 1998, he managed the First Slovak Media Agency, the largest media agency in the Slovak Republic. Between 1986 and 1994, he held different managerial positions at the Slovak TV (STV).

Václav Mika is a graduate of the University of Economics in Bratislava. In 1994, he received the Professional Certificate in Management from Open University. He also studied at the Management Institute in Graz, Austria.

Radka Doehring joined CME in 1996. For the last six years, she has been statutory representative and Finance Director of TV Markíza. Prior to that she worked as Manager of Corporate Reporting and Analysis based in London, UK, responsible for financial planning across the CME station group. She started her career with CME as a Regional Finance Manager responsible for overseeing the station financial reporting in Germany, the Slovak Republic, Romania and the Czech Republic. Prior to joining CME she worked for Arthur Andersen in Kansas City and Prague and for the International Trade Institute in Manhattan, Kansas.

Radka Doehring is a graduate of Kansas State University. She is a certified public accountant and in 2005 she received her MBA from the Open University in London.  She lives in Bratislava and has one child.
