Nova Cinema is launched 1st December

The long anticipated launch of TV Nova’s sister channel, Nova Cinema, takes place on Sunday 1st December. Nova Cinema will allow cable and satellite viewers in the Czech Republic to enjoy a channel dedicated to movies. There will also be the opportunity for viewers to catch re-runs of their favourite TV series.
The Nova group of channels, which also includes Galaxie Sport, is owned by Central European Media Enterprises (CME). With digital broadcasting set to begin in 2008, the launch of Nova Cinema is a taste of things to come. "This step moves us to the stage, where Nova starts to function not only as one TV station, but as a family of channels," said Petr Dvorak, general director of CME's flagship Czech channel TV Nova.
TV NOVA follows a proven Romanian model of multichannel strategy where CME and it’s partners operate four channels targeting different demographic groups.
