This year’s East Capital Awards took place with a grand celebration attended by over 400 investors, business partners and prominent Eastern European experts on November 22nd in the beautiful surroundings of Grand Hotel’s Vinterträdgården in Stockholm. The event, which is held every year to recognize three of the most outstanding companies in Eastern Europe, had an extra special touch this year as East Capital also celebrated its 10 year anniversary.
Together, East Capital partners Karine Hirn and Albin Rosengren gracefully hosted the evening starting with an explanation of the philosophy behind the Awards – to single out three companies, from among the 500 visited by East Capital’s analysts and fund managers each year, that have shown outstanding results in the categories of Best Growth, Best IPO and Discovery of the Year in Eastern Europe.
Broadcasting company CME, Central European Media Enterprises, received the award for Best Growth. The award was presented by East Capital Partner Justas Pipinis who explained that CME was chosen for the company’s “impressive historic growth that has been paired with maintained high margins and very strong future growth prospects. The dedicated professional management team also has a strong track record in terms of successfully acquiring media assets throughout Eastern Europe.” Romana Tomasova, Head of Corporate Communications, accepted the award on behalf of CME and briefly explained that the company’s “key asset” is “the people”. She further explained that CME only employs local Eastern Europeans and it is their knowledge and expertise that has made the company what it is today.
