Success confirmed by ratings

Believe it or not, it seems that Nova TV will again become the most watched TV station in Croatia. To be more precise, this commercial television station achieved ratings of 18 percent for the all day period among the general population in the first six months of this year, which is 32 percent more than in the same period last year. It was also the only station with national reach which recorded a rise in ratings, while the other three channels marked a fall. For example, Nova TV achieved the greatest rise in ratings with an increase of 30 percent in prime time from 7 till 11 PM in the first six months of 2007 and achieved average prime time ratings of 20 percent.
We decided to check what the situation was like with the summer schedule and were informed that the first week of July has already confirmed its success with Nova TV achieving one of the best weekly ratings averages in 2007. It won three positions in prime time and realized the greatest rise of weekly share with ratings of 38 percent in the target group aged from 18 to 49 during the period from July 2nd to 8th , compared to the same week in 2006. As Sunday is concerned, Nova TV continues to hold the first place in the summer schedule too.
Dnevnik Nove TV (Nova TV News) was the most successful national news program on July 8th, recording the greatest share in ratings with 31.5 percent. In the evening program, when it was broadcasting Nad lipom 35, The Naked Gun 2 comedy and showbiz magazine Red Carpet, Nova TV won a 28 percent share in the ratings. As for the longest running showbiz magazine Red Carpet is concerned, it seems that its editor Danijel Delale is very well informed about domestic showbiz given that it is the only program of its kind that marked a rise in ratings.
On Tuesday, July 3rd Nova TV won first place in prime time with 28 percent share in the ratings, while American film Honey was the most viewed program of the day among all television stations with 11.4 percent of the ratings. The success was achieved on Thursday, July 5th too, when Nova TV captured a 25 percent share in the ratings and the viewers' favourite was the film Shark Zone, which was the most viewed program in the time of its broadcast. Besides the already mentioned films, Kviskoteka, Red Carpet and Nasa mala klinika made the finals as the most viewed shows of the week on Nova TV.
The time between 6 and 6:30 PM, during which Nova TV broadcasts comedy shows, won two first and two second places, which shows that the schedule was what viewers expected and wanted during the summer. After the exceptional performace of the first week, in the last week this Nova TV again won first place according to the ratings in the target group aged 18 to 49. On July 15th the company was again the hit of the day with Dnevnik Nove TV, for the second time, being more viewed than Dnevnik on the national television station. Nova TV won 31 percent of the share in the ratings with the Sunday programs, which ran between 7 and 11 PM. In any case, we have to conclude that this company returns to the first position, which it last held three years ago. Although the arrival of RTL disturbed the market, it was soon obvious who had more serious intentions and who showed more respect to the viewers with their program.
