PRO TV celebrating its 11th anniversary
December 15, 2006, Mediafax Monitoring
Pro TV reporters travelled all around Europe to find the Romanians who became part of the EU before Romania and gathered great stories of people for whom the EU membership has no secrets. Amalia Enache, Paula Herlo, Carmen Avram and Romeo Diaconescu will present the already trodden road of those who, far away from home, knew how to continue the true Romanian traditions and who, proud of being part of this nation, didn’t give up their customs and thus winning the Europeans’ sympathy. From France to Spain, from London to Rome, Pro TV reporters brought home spectacular stories of successful Romanians for the special editions of Pro TV News aired during the entire day of 1st of December.
As on each December the 1st, throughout the entire day, Pro TV broadcasts music video clips with its stars, anchors or reporters singing and dancing on different EU rhythms but with just one message to the viewers: “e.U. ARE PRO TV”.
Together with celebrating its 11th anniversary Pro TV has announced the launch of the first high definition (HD) television services in Eastern Europe today, on its 11th anniversary. The launch comes after the TV station, located in Pache Protopopescu street, has invested some EUR 10 million in equipment, as well as in the construction of a new TV studio. High definition services ensure broadcast quality similar to that offered by a home-cinema system. Differences between standard broadcasts and the HD broadcasts are so dramatic, that the change is "comparable to the impact produced by the shift from black-and-white television to colour television," says George Iliescu, deputy general manager of technical operations with PRO TV S.A. "The image quality and level of detail guaranteed by HD broadcasts is so high, that the announcers' make-up and the setting will be entirely different from the traditional ones", mentioned Iliescu. PRO TV has already ordered the HD version of all the films available in this format that are included in its broadcast schedule.
