Acquired by Central European Media Enterprise (CME) in March 2007, Sport.ro is 'The New National Sport Channel' on the Romanian TV market. Sport.ro broadcasts high-quality sports and sport-related programming in Romania through its ownership of valuable broadcast license rights to some of the most popular sports programming.

Broadcasting 24 hours a day and reaching 87.1% of Romania's 21 million people, Sport.ro broadcasts approximately 59% locally produced content and achieved an all-day audience share of 1.9% in the 18-49 target group in 2011. Sport.ro is specifically geared towards entertaining men and holds the broadcast rights to major football properties, including UEFA Europa League and Romanian Football Cup.

World-class boxing always has a home at Sport.ro, with the most important boxing events shown every week. Fight events are very present on Sport.ro, like K-1, UFC or MMA. World Wrestling Entertainment programming is one of the most popular on the channel, with Smackdown, Raw, Superstars, NXT and special events keeping viewers of all ages glued to the television set.
