CME’s New Media Division operates more than 75 online products and distribution platforms across six markets that reached in 2011 an audience of approximately 12 million unique users
One of the division’s objectives is to support the Broadcast Division and Media Pro Entertainment by developing distribution platforms to create audience loyalty and drive brand innovation online. The division’s award winning highly targeted dedicated online news products, which harness the audience popularity of leading TV productions, provide additional touch points that allow the development of more personal and interactive relationships with viewers.
The New Media Division also operates a number of non-TV related services through highly targeted standalone niche sites, which are created separately from the broadcast operations according to local demand. The advantage of CME’s online products is that advertisers have the opportunity to connect with highly engaged users and fans. In 2011 it launched deal-of-the-day portals in the Czech Republic and Croatia to increase non-advertising revenues, and launched five thematic portals, increasing the number of exclusive online clients by 15%.
The product strategy for the New Media segment focuses on offering the viewers the choice of watching CME’s premium content anytime and anywhere. In 2011 CME launched Voyo, a video-on-demand portal across all of its markets. Viewers enjoy now hundreds of movies and series, our own local productions in catch-up, as well as ahead of TV broadcast, live sport and news productions, all packaged in a paid subscription that varies country by country from between US$4 and US$8.3, without VAT.
