Broadcast
CME reaches into the homes of around 50 million people in Central and Eastern Europe and is the number one broadcaster in all of its markets.
CME’s first operation was TV Nova in the Czech Republic which was founded in 1994 and was the first privately owned commercial station in Eastern Europe. Today, CME operates 31 commercial channels across six markets.
CME’s approach to broadcasting has been to achieve a leading audience share position with a national reach general entertainment channel. The local brand can then use that strong leadership position to launch additional niche channels and expand into a multichannel television network.
Local programming and news are fundamental to audience share leadership, and CME’s television schedules are carefully constructed according to the culture and tastes of the market. Native language television fiction and reality and entertainment shows draw the largest audiences with almost all of CME’s local content being produced by the Media Pro Entertainment division.
