bTV Comedy

bTV Comedy was first launched on September 30, 2005 under the name GTV and later relaunched as bTV Comedy on October 1, 2009. The channel has a unique audience positioning focusing solely on comedy and entertainment programming. It reaches Bulgaria’s households through cable distribution and has Free-to-Air coverage in Sofia.

The channel was launched in response to audience analysis which revealed the systematic shortage of comedy programs on the Bulgarian TV market. It aims to offer a schedule complementary to that of bTV by offering viewers, for example, the choice of a comedy movie at 21:00 every night as an alternative to bTV’s Reality and Entertainment programming.

bTV Comedy generated an average all day audience share in the 18-49 audience of 2.5% in 2011.

The Chief Executive Officer of CME's operations in Bulgaria is Pavel Stanchev.
