Ukraine - Studio 1+1
In September 2007, "Studio 1+1" became the informative backer of the International Festival of Animation Films "KROK". This is the only festival of animation cinema in the CIS region, and is acknowledged as one of the best events of its kind in world ratings. It is the unique result of creative collaboration between Russian and Ukrainian cinematography.
The festival is a review of the best students’ works from cinema schools all over the world and producers-debutants. Its mission is to contribute to the experience exchange of representatives of different cinema schools, the search of new ideas, tendencies and ways of world animation.
In 2007 the fourteenth festival "KROK" was held from September 25 – October, 6 on the motor ship "T.H. Shevchenko" on the route Odessa-Sevastopol-Yalta-Kherson-Zaporozhia-Kremenchug-Kaniv-Kyiv. 600 films were reviewed by the selected committee of XIV MCF "KROK". 153 films entered the Competitive program. http://www.krokfestival.com
In October 2007 "Studio 1+1" rendered informational support (40 announcements) to International Film Festival "Molodist" – the biggest film festival in Eastern Europe. The 37th Festival "Molodist" was held from 20th - 28th of October, 2007. The honorary President of the festival is Viktor Yushchenko and Gerard Depardieu and Hares Yussef are on the board of trustees.
The festival program includes 3 categories, which are: Student films, first professional short-length films and first professional multireel live-action films. Many out-of-competition programs and special developments are also included in the Festival Program among them "Ukrainian Movie Panorama", "New Russian Movie", "Festival of Festivals", "French Movie Today", "German Boulevard", "From Italy with Love", "Movie with Greek Accent", "Holland Film Presents" and many others. http://www.molodist.com
"Studio 1+1" was also an informational sponsor (40 announcements) of the International Festival of Documentary Films, "Contact", named after Larisa Rodnyanska, that was held in Kyiv from 8 - 14 of April. For the third time the Festival gathered the best works of documentary film makers from every corner of the globe. The competitive program was composed of two parts – international and national. The famous culture expert Myroslav Popovych was the head of the national program jury; and the international program jury was headed by Lithuanian documentary film maker and director Saulyus Berzhinis. Ukrainian film critic and script writer Sergiy Trimbach led the Film Choosing Committee for both national and international programs. Documentary films from 20 countries of the globe were offered during the festival. The main festival goal is to arouse mass audience interest in documentary films.
In April 2007 "Studio 1+1" rendered informational support (via TSN reporting, interviews in "Breakfast with "1+1" and others) to the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz that took place at the Kiev Philharmonic society from 17 - 30 of April. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is the organizer of this competition. 76 pianists from 22 countries of the world took part in the 2007 competition. The jury was headed by the outstanding composer Myroslav Skoryk and also included famous musicians from Great Britain, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, USA, Russia and Ukraine. At this event, young musicians gain a unique opportunity to prove themselves as concert-giving pianists whose performance will be heard in many countries. The competition is a significant cultural event for young pianists from all over the world.
