Ukraine - Studio 1+1
Since 2007 Studio 1+1 has been an informative backer of the International Festival of Animation Films "KROK". It is the only festival of animation cinema in the CIS region, and is acknowledged as one of the best events of its kind in world ratings. It is the unique result of creative collaboration between Russian and Ukrainian filmmakers.
The festival is a review of the best students' works from cinema schools all over the world and producers-debutants. Its mission is to contribute to the experience exchange of representatives of different cinema schools, the search of new ideas, tendencies and ways of world animation. www.krokfestival.com
For a number of years Studio 1+1 has also rendered informational and other types of support to the "Molodist" International Film Festival - one of the biggest film festival in Eastern Europe. The festival program includes 3 categories: Student films, first professional short-length films and first professional multi-reel live-action films. www.molodist.com
In 2009 Studio 1+1 will support the biggest Ukrainian festival of ethno-music - "Kraina mriy". The channel is planning to launch a big patriotic campaign, with the aim of reminding viewers how beautiful and historically rich their native country is.
Studio 1+1 is the only channel in Ukraine to have produced socially oriented shows, such as "Dancing for You". Not only does the project provide real help to its participants, but it has also attracted the attention of the country to those who are in need.
Studio 1+1's news service, TSN, is first and foremost targeted at meeting the needs of common Ukrainians. TSN's major goal is to provide its viewers with truly informational and educational support, show them how to deal with difficult situations in everyday life, how to protect their rights and so on. TSN is the only news-service in Ukraine to produce special investigation serials on socially-oriented issues, such as medical care standards, problem teenagers, criminality and corruption among police and other law enforcers, etc.
Further, TSN operates a special "hot" telephone line for people to inform TSN on important news and outstanding events. Thanks to this line, lots of Ukrainians, especially from remote cities of the country, attract public attention to their problems and get real support from either the authorities or sponsors.
In 2009, Studio 1+1 has launched a special multi-media project aimed at helping people to deal with the economic meltdown both morally and practically. The project involves a variety of activities including positive social videos, a series of TSN stories about ways and means to surmount the current crisis and an Internet based competition to find the most positive and morale-boosting photos.
